Date: 26th October 2005
Venue: Exeter University Great Hall
Time: 7:30pm
Support: Patrick Wolf <3

Wow. Wow. We get there about 6:30pm, joined the back of the queue, there was already about 20 people there. We were right next to the tourbus, which is a very nice colour blue. Anyway we peaked through a window in the Uni and we could see what we thought was Matt, and he turned around and it was! Then shortly after we saw Gordy, then Russell, then Kelé. They were too far away though. Then we heard Patrick soundchecking, and he played 'Teignmouth' it sounded wonderful. Doors finally opened at 7:31pm, we quickly shoved our bags in the cloakroom and ran upto the hall, got in there and whoever told me it could hold 600 well your wrong.. more like 2000 and more... Arghh, Anyway got front row against the barrier. Becks and Emma tucked in behind moi. Then more waiting, the music over the PA was pretty good, got some DFA1979, everyone started dancing and singing, was good. The hall quickly filled up behind us. Then Patrick came on.... Wow just wow, he was amazing, He spoke out quite a bit. He was just really cute. He played the following:-

Wind In The Wires
Teignmouth
The Gypsy King
The Shadowsea
This Weather
Tristan
Jacobs Ladder
The Railway House
The Libertine

The sound was really clear, it was brilliant, and if you think his voice is good on record then dam you need to hear it live, its amazing. Not many people were singing along, infact i believe it was only my sister and myself. During 'This Weather', Patrick looked over and saw us singing and he gave us a nice little smile! He was wearing some gorgeous clothes too. Anyway i took a little video, it doesnt have any sound, but its quite cute, its quite clear too.

Whilst we waited patiently for Bloc Party they again put some very good music on, including Kubichek! yeah! Anyway Bloc came on about 9:10-15ish and Well the place went crazy, which probably explains why my ribs are now purple and bruised. They all looked fabulous. They spoke out to the crowd a lot, and Kelé did not stop smiling all night. I didnt focus on Russell too much, i was kind of busy looking at Gordy! The mosh pit formed right behind me... and my sister survived it as did her friend, loads of crowdsurfing, one guy fainted too, was quite scary. The crowd got even worse during 'Banquet' and Gordy scanned the front row and saw how squashed we were all getting and he stopped and said:-

" Guys, Please can everyone in the middle step back a bit, because people are seriously getting squashed here, Serious "

Aww Bless him! Everyone did move back but they soon moved forward again when 'Helicopter' came on. 'Like Eating Glass' also made the crowd go crazy. Kelé asked everyone if they felt like dancing and well he did, so we all joined in with him whilst they played 'She's Hearing Voices' which one of the highlights for me. Every song was perfect, but the ones that really really stood out for me were.. 'She's Hearing Voices', 'The Marshals Are Dead', 'Helicopter', 'Banquet' & 'Price Of Gas'. They were unbelievable. Only one bottle was thrown throughout the whole set, so that was better. I got badly bruised during 'Like Eating Glass' and 'Helicopter'. It was definately worth it though, everyone sang along, but a lot didnt know 'Tulips' and 'The Marshals Are Dead', I screamed when they started playing 'The Marshals Are Dead' and everyone around me kind of gave me a weird look but i sung along anyway! We had some teenys arrghhh couple rows behind me screaming 'Russell we love you' even though they were stood infront of and staring at Gordy... Strrange. Anyway heres what they played:-

So Here We Are
Positive Tension
Banquet
Blue Light
She's Hearing Voices
The Marshals Are Dead
This Modern Love
Luno
Like Eating Glass
Little Thoughts
Helicopter
--------------
Two More Years
Price Of Gas
Tulips
Pioneers

Kelé danced a lot, and in the intro to 'Like Eating Glass', he held his guitar as it was a gun and pointed it at Matt, that was pretty cool. The lighting was also amazing, we had loads of different patterns and colours. I also took a short video during Bloc, again no sound, but its cute.
